TxDOT has announced that Ferrovial Construction Webber has been awarded the contract for SH 99 Segment B-1.

What Happens Next

The contractor will begin working with local jurisdictions to secure permits and establish necessary project facilities, which may include:

  • Core office space
  • Field office space
  • Laydown yards
  • Borrow sites
  • Other project-related sites and permits

Coordination & Planning
Work will begin with local agencies to secure approvals, coordinate logistics, and prepare project sites for future construction activity.

Utility Relocations
Discussions will continue regarding utility relocations and agreements to identify conflicts and prepare the corridor for construction.

Early Activity
Initial field work may include surveying, site evaluations, and early coordination efforts as the project moves into the design phase.

Anticipated Project Timeline

Design Work
Detailed design efforts are expected to begin immediately and continue well into the second year of the contract.

Utility Adjustments
Utility adjustment activities, including coordination, design, and construction, are expected to begin as soon as possible and may last approximately one year.

Roadway Construction
Roadway construction cannot begin until the contractor’s design packages are submitted and reviewed. Some field activity could be visible as early as spring, but a more detailed schedule is expected from the contractor in the coming months.

Community Engagement
TxDOT and the contractor are expected to begin scheduling stakeholder meetings in the coming months to engage the community as the project ramps up this fall.
